The ash drawer is designed to hold the ashes resulting from constant use, and the variety of heating wood. The firebrick lined fire box will hold up to 3.1 cubic feet. Heat settings are variable; a full load of wood will generally give an 8 to 12 hour run time. The thermostat also is instrumental in monitoring the use of wood.

Consumer Reviews:

Consumers like the style, cooking area on top, and the quality. The way it heats and maintains coals overnight so a fire can be started quickly the next morning is one of the most common statements in reviews. The front damper control will keep heat at a comfy range. Customers like using less wood with the Drolet Myriad, and appreciate that they can use it to cook on, in a pinch. Sizes of homes ranged from 1900 square feet to a 3,000 square foot old farmhouse: all kept comfortably warm. Customers found it easy to install.

Consumers don't like that the blower gets a little noisy, although it was something they could live with. One customer noted that the glass window got a dark residue that took a while to burn off. It was also noted that the cleanout hole from the firebox to the large ash pan is small and a bit hard to get to. Altitude was mentioned as affecting the way the Drolet Myriad worked.
